(https://hr.uw.edu/benefits/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2018/02/benefits-summary-classified-staff-greater-than-half-time-20230701\_a11y.pdf) **$4,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine** The **UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY DEPARTMENT** is looking for an outstanding **PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 - INVESTIGATIONAL DRUG SERVICES** to join our Pharmacy team! **WORK SCHEDULE** • Full-Time / 40 hours per week • Day Shift **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** • Under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technician 2 independently performs specialized, technical pharmaceutical tasks to support the Investigational Drug Services program Strong candidates will have good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to interpret study documents and follow detailed instructions with precision. Knowledge and experience with sterile intravenous admixture in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines is preferred, along with the demonstrated ability to perform at a high level of attention to detail. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** • Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1 • Prepare investigational medications from a physician order which may include compounded sterile products, hazardous medications and extemporaneously prepared doses • Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations • Prepare sterile products and chemotherapy hazardous medications using appropriate aseptic technique according to USP 797 and USP 800 guidelines • Troubleshoot technical questions related to Investigational Drug Services. Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy and medical staff for policies and procedures • Maintain all quality assurance and other regulatory documentation required for dose preparation for investigational drug studies • Perform billing activities to drug study budgets and provide documentation to study coordinators as required • Receive Investigational Drug shipments, document required elements into inventory logs and assure proper storage. Prepare Investigational Drugs for shipment when required utilizing established cold chain practices **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS** Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 OR equivalent education/experience. **LEGAL REQUIREMENT** State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification. **_CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENTUW Medicine is committed to being a drug-free workplace.
