Position duties are performed under the supervision of facility Pharmacists. We offer a team environment, competitive pay and an excellent State of Wyoming benefits package! Join our team and be a part of this exciting time in the development and enhancement of services provided to our residents!       Human Resource Contact: Tammy / 307-335-6784 / tammalee.keysaw1@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level. + With Pharmacy Technician licensure, assist in filling new prescription orders, including simple/non-sterile compounding. + Fill refills each month using blister pack and unit dose systems. + Enter prescriptions in the individual's Medication Administration Record (MAR). + Back-up for delivery of weekly and monthly medication orders. + Communicate with living area staff regarding medication changes. + Inventory, order and check in medications, over-the-counter stock items and medical supplies. + Reconcile invoices, stock and complete receiving reports for weekly drug supply and other pharmacy orders as needed. + Maintain pharmacy blister pack and unit dose system. + Compile pharmacy statistics for monthly and quarterly reports. + Digitize pharmacy forms, prepare monthly reports and handle miscellaneous filing. + Conduct medicine cabinet inspections in living areas and the pharmacy, ensuring expired products are identified and removed. Monitor refrigerator for temperatures to ensure proper maintenance. + Reconcile controlled substances in pharmacy inventory with dispensing records. + Assist with the implementation of USP-800 regulations and monitoring. + Represent the State of Wyoming at the annual Minnesota multi-state contract conference. + Send out and track consents to guardians for medical procedures. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to applicants licensed by the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy. National Certified Pharmacy Technician licensure is a plus. KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of drug information, use, dosage, drug interactions, precautions, warnings, adverse effects, administration, dosage forms and cost. + Knowledge and skill to accurately fill medication orders with attention to detail. + Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, ICF/IID and SNF regulations and WLRC policies and procedures. + Skills in computer usage, particularly experience with pharmacy dispensing programs, word processing programs and medical records programs. + Knowledge of patient education, safety and comfort, infection control and prevention, patient monitoring and client rights. + Skills in machine transcription, office organization, methods and practices. + Ability to set priorities appropriately and independently. + Ability to manage work accurately and interact well with staff, residents, guardians, and public. + Ability to perform job duties during regularly scheduled shift and prioritize duties as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare) Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Healthcare) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Care Assistant OR Education & Experience Substitution: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Healthcare) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Care Assistant Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Due to the nature of this position, telework opportunities are not available. + Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors. NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + A background check, including fingerprinting will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant. + Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions.
