Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will prepare and compound medications according to prescriptions and established protocols, ensuring accuracy and maintaining sterile and sanitary conditions in the compounding lab and workspaces. You will assist pharmacists in reviewing and processing prescription orders for compounded medications, communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner, and verify and organize inventory of ingredients and supplies. Responsibilities + Prepare and compound medications according to prescriptions and established protocols. + Ensure accuracy and maintain sterile and sanitary conditions in the compounding lab and workspaces. + Adhere to regulations and legal requirements. + Assist pharmacists in reviewing and processing prescription orders for compounded medications. + Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing inquiries about compounded medications and services. + Answer and manage phone calls efficiently, including providing information, taking refill orders, and routing calls as needed. + Verify and organize inventory of ingredients and supplies for compounding, placing orders as necessary. + Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements in all compounding activities. + Educate customers and patients on the proper use of their compounded medications under pharmacist supervision. + Collaborate with pharmacy staff. Essential Skills + Pharmacy technician certification + Experience in healthcare + Certified in KS + Must be at least 18 years old + Retail pharmacy experience + Compounding experience + Pharmacy technician license Additional Skills & Qualifications + Good customer service skills + Effective communication + Positive attitude + Competence in job duties + Willingness to train in compounding (experience preferred but not necessary) Work Environment The work environment is organized and positive, with a collaborative team dynamic. Employees are treated well, with perks such as lunch provided on Fridays. Unlike traditional pharmacies, operations are on a cash-and-carry basis, avoiding the complications of insurance claims. This simpler operation contributes to a more pleasant work environment, as patients are generally not dealing with acute illnesses. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
