Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position involves various duties related to the creation and routing of pharmacy orders, including receipt review and verification of members' or patients' prescriptions. The role requires preparation and scanning of documents, verification of member or patient data, and submission of prescription orders into the computer system. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician may contact members, patients, or providers to validate data, request payment information, and establish priority for order or delivery details. As permitted by state regulations, the technician will interpret providers' prescriptions, create orders, assess inputs, and retrieve prescription medical, laboratory, and reimbursement information from the computer system.
ResponsibilitiesProcess, pack, and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring the inclusion of drugs, related supplies, and patient collateral such as educational materials.Perform ordering and inventory or warehouse duties, including proper storage and appropriate refrigeration of perishable products.Properly pack products as required by Standard Operating Procedures.Conduct daily box preparation work.Create or fix any shipping labels as needed, including those for international shipments.Transport packages to shipping, mail, and courier services as needed.Assist with answering the shipping and delivery door and manage inventory orders.Receive and appropriately store box orders.Learn functions related to commercial courier and shipping systems.Ensure adequate stock of ice bricks for appropriate packaging of daily shipments.Empty trash as needed and assemble shipping boxes.Maintain knowledge of shipping holiday schedule.Maintain open communications regarding courier issues with the supervisor.Essential SkillsNC Pharmacy Technician LicenseNational Pharmacy Technician CertificationExpertise in pharmacy operations and processesProficiency in health care systemsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to process, pack, and ship pharmacy orders efficientlyExperience with inventory management and warehouse operationsFamiliarity with shipping labels and international shipment proceduresKnowledge of commercial courier and shipping systemsWork Environment
The work schedule is Sunday-Thursday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM EST, with occasional Saturday shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The position requires working with various technologies and equipment related to pharmacy operations. The environment necessitates adherence to proper dress code standards as per the facility's requirements.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
