Join our team at MTC Medical IAH Detention Facility in Livingston, Texas, and make a difference in the lives of those in our care.** **What you’ll do:** You’ll be responsible for organizing and maintaining pharmacy operations for the facility. The pharmacy technician utilizes appropriate skills in delegating, educating and evaluating nursing staff to ensure that the pharmacy program operates in compliance with MTC Medical and customer directives. **Essential Functions:** 1. Receive and document medications, abiding by applicable state and national regulations. 2. Ensure drug room security, replace facility working drug stock and maintain the upkeep of the facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment. 3. Enter medication compliance into the pharmacy computer system. Ensure that MARS are accurate and recopied as required. 4. Practice basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations. Perform quality assurance on all medication orders, narcotic/sharps counts, and MARS as applicable, 5. Maintain a current inventory of all supplies at established PAR levels. 6. Re-order needed supplies, ensuring all purchase orders are maintained in a log book. Match all invoices to purchase orders to ensure all items have been received. 7. Assist in the maintenance of a safe, comfortable facility environment; obtain and store medical supplies; clean and sterilize instruments and equipment. 8. Set, with appropriate guidance, and maintain PAR levels. Maintain all pharmacy orders, logs and documentation. 9. Administer oral medications. 10. Transcribe medication orders, enter medication orders into pharmacy data base. 11. Retrieve daily, weekly, and monthly reports from pharmacy database. 12. Attend scheduled staff meetings; promote communication and flow of relevant information. 13. Perform CPR when necessary. Maintain current certification. 14. Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules. 15. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques. 16. Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management. **Education and Experience Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Must have a current medication aide certification in the state of Texas. + One year of experience in a hospital, clinic, or correctional setting preferred. + Must possess current CPR certification. + Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. **Why:**  Make a real difference every day by helping to change lives. _Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
