Job Details
The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
+ Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation
+ Identifies medications no longer in use in on units, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications
+ Assists in receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations
+ Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date
+ Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations
+ Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention
+ Assists with Pyxis inventory
+ Pre-pack medications in ready to use format
+ Fills mediation cassettes
Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent; college courses desirable
+ PTCB or NHA Certification required
+ New York State Pharmacy Technician license required
+ Basic computer skills
+ 2 – 3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required
Salary Range
USD $31.27 - USD $39.09 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
