Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will communicate with doctor offices and insurance companies, and manage both electronic and hard copy prescriptions. Your duties will include filling prescriptions, manually processing prescription orders, and data entry within our system. You will handle a volume of 500 scripts throughout the day, with increased activity in the latter half of the day. Additionally, you will be responsible for inventory control by ensuring items are ordered and orders are checked in.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with doctors, patients, insurance companies, and other staff members.Input and process electronic and hard copy prescriptions accurately.Fill prescriptions and manage manual processing of prescription orders.Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within the system.Handle a daily volume of 500 scripts, with a busier schedule in the afternoon.Conduct inventory control by ordering items and verifying incoming orders.

Essential Skills

Strong customer service skills.Excellent organizational abilities.Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.Effective communication skills, particularly in speaking with patients, doctors, and insurance representatives.Pharmacy technician license or certification preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
