Responsibilities Summary Ensures the proper handling, organization and storage of all pharmaceuticals. Provides clerical functions as directed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receives and records pharmaceutical and supply orders. Ensures expiration dates are current and notifies Pharmacy Nurse of any expired drugs which need to be removed from stock. Prepares requests for ordering medications from pharmacy, supplies orders, etc. Ensures that drugs and supplies are stored according to manufacturers’ recommendations, i.e., refrigeration or protection from heat and light. Ensures inmate medication administration records are current and up to date. Ensures appropriate drug allergies are noted in the medical record on the Problem List and the medication administration record. Ensures that appropriate sanitation is maintained within the confines of the Pharmacy. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Training in an accredited pharmacy technician program and a minimum of one (1) year’s experience. Working knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures. General clerical aptitude. Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions. Ability to maintain company records. Ability to make numerical computations. Be able to perpetuate a harmonious, clean and safe environment. Be able to comply with all applicable safety rules, standards, and regulations. GEO Secured Services
