SUMMARY
Assists Pharmacist with filling prescriptions accurately along with controlling inventory and expenses
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptionsReceives and stores incoming suppliesCounts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory recordsBills insurances, understands MedicareTranslates prescription into the computer system for pharmacist approvalInputs prescription orders accurately and in a timely manner according to established departmental guidelinesAssists in completing and updating medication profiles for patientsMaintains complete and accurate dispensing or other required records of activityContacts physician offices for refills of continued prescriptions where permitted by state Pharmacy regulations.Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and vendorsComplies with all HIPPA laws and regulations Keeps up to date with new medications and prescription changesIs working towards or holds a pharmacy technician certificationOther duties as assignedKEY ATTRIBUTES

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS
