Pharmacy Technician
**Job Type:** Regular **Time Type:** Full time **Work Shift:** Rotating (United States of America) **FLSA Status:** Non-Exempt **When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.** Under supervision of the Director of Pharmacy/Staff Pharmacist, following established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, performs a variety of pharmacy related functions including filling routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and I.V. admixtures. **Job Description:** **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:** Processes medication orders according to established policies and procedures: + Replenishes automated dispensing machines per scheduled fills, and as needed. + Loads and unloads medications in the automated dispensing machines as needed. + Trouble shoots ADM problems and arranges for repairs as needed. + Assists in preparing I.V. meds using aseptic technique under direct supervision of a pharmacist. + Maintains IV room using USP797 standards. + Compounds or assembles all needed IVs on a daily and PRN basis. + Maintains adequate level of all stock and supplies. Replenishing unit dose bins and IVs as needed. + Performs extemporaneous pre-packaging of medications as needed. + Pick up of discontinued medications at each nursing units, returns usable stock to inventory upon patient discharge or discontinuation of order. Credits patients as appropriate + Answers Pharmacy telephone, identifying department and self, directs calls to appropriate area. + Distributes controlled substance to nursing units Pyxis Machines, completes all necessary forms accurately. + Restock the Night Pharmacy on a daily basis. + Restocks Code cart and Anesthesia trays as needed. + Performs expiration date checks throughout the pharmacy as assigned. + Maintains appearances of department as needed. Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat and well-organized. + Keeps-Pharmacy equipment-clean and operational. Employee maintains competencies (position specific and hospital-wide) required for the specific patient population served. Perform all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules, and regulations as set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
