40Job Description:Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care for all of our customers. The Technician is responsible for entering information into the computer correctly, collecting proper payments, using proper phone etiquette. The Technician will also prepare and mix sterile preparations, unit dose, prescriptions, and injectable medications. The Technician will maintain supplies and respond to patient, internal and external customer requests.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES1. Obtaining accurate information from customers including personal and insurance information, and efficiently entering information into the computer system.
2. Assisting the pharmacist in filling prescriptions by counting the correct number or filling the right amount of liquid as required.
3. Performs data entry, charge functions, insurance information in the computer for all customers as needed. Operates cash register and performs transactions with proper receipts to patients.
4. Prepares and maintains accurate records for all medications including narcotics and alcohol.
5. Provides customer service, skilled at appropriate use of communication systems.
6. Maintains supplies in pharmacy (including rotating stock, inventory, expensing, delivery).
7. Participates in providing customer service to patients and other Gundersen Health System departments.
8. Assists with maintaining cleanliness in department, guaranteeing sterility with appropriate measures.
9. Provides 1:1 training for new employees.
10. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
11. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
12. Personally interacts, engages with and cares for patients.
13. Ensures patient safety.

Work Experience:
Required
1 year work experience in the service sector.
Desired
1 year related healthcare experience in a general support or service area, requiring basic pharmacy knowledge and skills.
License and Certifications:
Required
Must be registered with the Wisconsin Dept. of Safety & Professional Services (WIRPHT) and must have Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPHT)
