As Pharmacy Technician, you will support pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. You will be responsible for the preparations of sterile compounds both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy, inventory control, ordering supplies and medications as needed and USP 797 guidelines adherence.
A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A High School Diploma or GEDLicensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds. Basic computer skillsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
