Approved Tasks + Placing, packing, pouring, or putting in a container for dispensing,. + Placing in or affixing upon any container a label required to be placed upon drugs + Selecting, taking from, and replacing upon shelves drugs used in dispensing + Enter information into the pharmacy software computer system. + Prepackaging and labeling of multi-dose and unit-dose packages of medication. + Recording patient and medication information. The recording of patient or medication information in a manual or an electronic system for later validation by the pharmacist may be performed by pharmacy technicians. Compounding non-sterile preparations (capsules, creams, lotions, emulsions, inserts, lozenges, troches, ointments, gels, solutions, suspensions and vaginal creams) 1. Bulk reconstitution of prefabricated non-injectable medication, which may include the addition of multiple additives. 2. Compounding. 1. All compounding procedures will be followed as outlined in specific compounding SOPs. 2. The technician will weigh out the listed ingredients from the log sheet based on the established formula and have documentation of each weight for pharmacist verification. 3. The quality control checks after each batch will include data documentation to be completed by the technician prior to the pharmacist's final check of the batch. This must be done before a compound is ready to be released into stock for patient use. **Education and/or Experience** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Completion of Pharmacy Technician Technical Program preferred. **Certification/Licensure/Registrations** + Certified Pharmacy Technician by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Healthcareer Association (EXCPT) or other approved pharmacy certification program required. + Registration with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of employment required. **Work Schedule** + **Monday-Friday, Day Shift; 80hrs/2wks** **Pay** The hourly range for this position is listed below.
