Job Description:
This incumbent demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The incumbent participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team.This is a PRN position with no set shifts. The shifts are at 3 pharmacies in Colorado Lutheran, St Joes and Good Samaritan Hospital. The possible shift times are from 7:30 am to 9pm Monday through Friday and 8 to 5 on weekends, depending on the pharmacy. All pharmacy is open on all major holidays.
Scope
As an Outpatient Pharmacy Tech you need to know how to:
Assist with all phases of pharmacy services- Work with patients, providers, and insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations- Answer phones and notes from physicians in a timely manner- Accurately read, interpret and enter prescriptions in a timely manner- Prepare medication orders and deliver prescriptions according to established policies, procedures, and protocols- Accurately type, bill and prepare prescriptions to extent allowed by state and federal rules and regulations- Perform basic calculations to determine doses and correct day supplies to be billed to 3rd party insurance companies- Perform necessary calculations to accurately prepare a compounded prescription

Current registration as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with The State Board of Pharmacy.At least two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience.Prior retail Pharmacy Technician experience.Physical Requirements:
