Job Description
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the Paxit automated Packaging and Dispensing equipment, the fulfillment of Bulk Prescriptions, and the staging of all finished items for shipment to our customers. This position will also assist in various other areas within the facility as needed with regards to pharmacy operations.
ResponsibilitiesOperate the Paxit automated Packaging and Dispensing equipment for bulk medication packs.Fulfill bulk prescriptions using smaller automated fill lines.Manually compound specialty prescriptions.Manage the stock area for general medical products including topicals and bandages.Assist in moving individual bins to the staging area for courier pickup at 11 PM.Work on your feet for the majority of the shift, with a moderate overall pace and available assistance when needed.Essential SkillsHigh School graduate or equivalent required.Current State Pharmacy Certification is required – Michigan License at the very least (temporary license accepted).Basic computer knowledge and skills.Understanding of medical terminology, math, and analytical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy is preferred.Ability to perform mundane tasks and follow instructions.Capability to meet production metrics after 1-2 weeks of training.Work Environment
The position is based in a fulfillment pharmacy located at the back of the building. This closed-door, long-term care pharmacy fulfills prescriptions for numerous long-term care and nursing facilities. The environment is more akin to a clean manufacturing setting than a traditional pharmacy, with about 50 people working across three shifts. The workplace can be quiet as tasks are generally completed independently, but it is friendly, and help is always available if needed. Shifts are Monday to Friday with rotating weekends, they are ideally needing second shift individuals (2pm-10:30 AM).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
