Pharmacy Technician IV - Pharmacy - FT - 1st Shift
Oversees the work of a team of Pharmacy Technicians that are responsible for the following activities:Assist clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.Receives, stickers and stocks daily medication order. Ensures bar code recognition in facility systems.Performs medication cabinet refill and out-of-date check on all items.Maintains assigned nursing station med room in compliance with policy.Troubleshoots medication cabinet issues and resolves when possible.Investigates any controlled substance discrepancy in assigned area.Repackages medications into unit-dose packaging and documents appropriate lot number and expiration labeling.Performs non-sterile compounding of optical and oral products.Performs sterile compounding of intravenous products utilizing aseptic technique. Develops work schedules and trains new pharmacy technicians.A wide degree of creativity and latitude are expected. Reports to the Director of Pharmacy.  

Education: High School diploma or GED required.

 

License/Certification: National Certification with PTCB or ExCPT is required.

 

Experience: 3-5 years of hospital pharmacy experience is required. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
