Job Details:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist team in the provision of medication management services.
Responsibilities
Assist with clinical services, such as medication reconciliation, prior authorization, refill authorization, etc.
Assist with MTM services, including, but not limited to the following: patient outreach, scheduling, medication review prep, and document creation.
Assist with staffing services including order triaging, phone call answering and other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Management team.
Assist pharmacists through queue monitoring, data entry and prescription transcription in Pharmacy Information Systems, submit insurance claims, transferring prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws, etc.
Support pharmacist provision of telephonic and/or video-telehealth medication management services.
Collect information for patient encounters (e.g. allergy history, medication history)
Contact patients using audio or video technology, often times cold calling, to reconcile medication lists, collect allergy and medical conditions, as well as obtain other pertinent information.
Contact medical providers, nurses, health educators, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support the provision of medication management services.
Qualifications & Requirements
High speed internet connection through cable broadband or fiber optic service provider
Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification, required
Completion of formal Pharmacy Technician educational program, preferred
Minimum, possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Medication Reconciliation, preferred
Experience with Medication Therapy Management, preferred
Experience with prescription data entry, preferred
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
Strong IT and troubleshooting experience
Proficiency with office technology tools, to include MS Office 2000 or later (esp. Excel, and Word), and Google G-Suite
Physical Demands
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
This role requires typical office-based physical activities: watching a computer monitor, use of a keyboard, occasionally repositioning light desk equipment, and speaking on a telephone for extended periods of time.
