Work where you matter. **You Belong at Avera:** Competitive pay, front-loaded PTO and options for free health insurance, sign-on bonuses, various shifts to fit your lifestyle and opportunities for career growth. **Join Avera as a Pharmacy Technician-In-Training and complete Avera’s Pharmacy Technician Education Program within 12 months of hire to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician.** **$3,000 sign-on bonus!** **_Position Highlights:_** + **May be eligible for $3,000 sign-on bonus with two-year commitment!** + **Ask about our Relocation Bonus!** + **Work directly with patients to provide services in a compassionate manner.** + **Work collaboratively with other members of the team.** + **Benefit eligible position.** + Avera St. Luke’s Named Top 20 Rural Community Hospital (https://www.avera.org/news-media/news/2018/top-20-rural-hospital/) **Job Summary** + Pharmacy Technician-in-Training assists in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within a variety of pharmacy environments. + This entry-level position participates in and completes Avera Health’s Pharmacy Technician Education Program in order to prepare for national certification exams to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. + Upon completion of the education program and successful Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination, the technician-in-training will be promoted into the role of Pharmacy Technician. + Avera Health’s Pharmacy Technician Education Program consists of 400 hours of combined didactic, simulation, and experiential learning activities. + Avera Health requires a two-year employment commitment upon completion of the Pharmacy Technician Education Program. **Education and/or Experience** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Associates degree preferred. + 0-6 months of experience is preferred. **Certification/Licensure/Registrations** + Ability to become registered with SD Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. + Registration with SD Board of Pharmacy is preferred. **Work Schedule** + Day/Evening Shift; 80 hours every 2 weeks + Occasional weekend (Currently every 4th) + Occasional holiday (Varies) + No call time **Pay** The hourly range for this position is listed below.
