Job Description
Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the registered pharmacy technician will perform delegated tasks to facilitate the accurate and timely filling of prescriptions and medication orders. The role involves assisting licensed pharmacists in providing medication and other pharmaceutical products to patients. This is primarily a production-based position focused on filling prescriptions, with minimal data entry and no customer-facing duties.
ResponsibilitiesFill prescriptions accurately and efficiently (30 scripts per hour metric - mostly pills, minimal compounding).Perform data entry and labeling tasks.Prepare packages for delivery.Stock inventory and manage retail pharmacy supplies.Ensure compliance with prior authorization requirements.Essential SkillsRegistered pharmacy technician with State of Florida.Minimum 1-2 years of pharmacy filling experience (externships welcome).Ability to perform mathematical calculations.Pharmacy technician license and certification.Experience in data entry, labeling, and inventory management.Ability to submit to fingerprinting to meet FL Medicare guidelines.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience in fast-paced retail pharmacy environments.Compounding experience.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Work Environment
The position is based in a closed-door pharmacy in West Palm Beach, FL. The technician will be standing for the majority of the time at the fill bench. The workflow involves printing scripts at a computer, collecting scripts from the printer, counting/filling scripts at the filling bench, and walking filled scripts to the pharmacist's bench for final review. Shifts are Monday-Friday, with hours ranging from 7am-3:30pm or 9am-5:30pm, 4-5 days per week (32-40 hours).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
