Responsibilities:

1. MEDICATION DISTRIBUTION

Decentralized

Process “missing dose” and continuous infusion next bag requestsMorning (24hr) patient specific distributionIntermittent Infusions-Deliver IVMB to patient specific bins/organize so bags are removed by timeReview refrigerated medications daily for outdates and short dated medicationsQuarterly wipe-down of medication refrigerator interior on assigned unitsUtilize census to move medications appropriately for Admissions, Discharges and Transfers.Empty tubes/deliver to Pyxis/Medroom/RN (stat and urgent doses)Return extra tubes to systemLiaison to pharmacy for missing doses/medication related issuesMonitor patient own meds and assure proper handlingMaintain neat and tidy med rooms, including refrigerators on the units coveredAssist with Pyxis drawer failures, alert patient care services to discrepancies, load medicationsAppropriately handle incoming phone calls

2. INVENTORY

Decentralized

Maintain adequate levels of drugs and supplies for assigned area (floor stock par levels, vaccines, etc). • Maintains an adequate level of emergency drug boxesCompletes daily check of narcotic lock boxes on assigned nursing unitsPerforms monthly narcotic inventory in Pyxis cabinets of assigned nursing units

3. ORDER and REPORT PROCESSING, RECORD KEEPING

Decentralized

Assist with Transport Kit/Emergency Kit logsProcesses daily reports accurately and in a timely manner

What you will need:

High School Diploma or equivalentNational certification by PTCB or NHA preferredValid New York State Pharmacy Technician Registration preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsAble to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals, multiplication and divisionTwo years pharmacy and computer experience preferredRelevant health care related experience preferred

Pay Range: $21.00 - $27.85

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
