Job Description:This position is a vital member of the pharmacy team and will assist in the adjudication, processing, packaging and distributive functions of the pharmacy working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. They will maintain a high level of interaction with pharmacy patients and providers to ensure prescriptions are being filled and delivered to patients within the service standards of the pharmacy. Will assist in many aspects of the daily pharmacy department activities including: resolution of customer service issues, billing, record keeping, clerical duties, monthly audits, and other functions necessary for optimal pharmacy performance. Team members within the Essentia Health Pharmacy will have an opportunity to be part of a rapidly-growing pharmacy practice that supports optimal patient care through meaningful interactions with Essentia Health patients across our system, our patient care teams and by leveraging our Electronic Medication Record.

If working in a MN location, must meet one of these three education/experience categories as defined by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy:

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician with maintenance of continuous registration as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy dating back prior to January 1st, 2013Completion of a board-approved technician training programCompletion of the Essentia Health employer-based technician training program within first 90 days of employment

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 4160 hours of pharmacy technician experiencePrevious experience working with patient medication profiles, claims adjudication and billing, copay assistance programs as well as experience with prior authorizations

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state in which they will be working (MN or ND) preferred

Registered as a pharmacy technician in Minnesota and Wisconsin (may provide a "pending" registration for Wisconsin)Possess a current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)Must maintain registration(s) and certification(s) for the duration of employmentOngoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state's Board of Pharmacy
