Pharmacy Trainee Or Lapse Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Patient AccessJob Description This position is open to pharmacy technician trainees, certified pharmacy technicians, or pharmacy technicians with expired licenses. The role involves assisting patients with medication access and processing insurance claims. Shifts are Monday through Friday, with hours either from 9 AM to 6 PM or 10 AM to 7 PM CST, assigned after training. Responsibilities + Handle inbound and occasional outbound calls. + Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. + Process live insurance claims. + Communicate with insurance companies, clinics, doctor staff, patients, and caregivers. + Assist patients with copay assistance. + Investigate the status of patient orders and reschedule deliveries if necessary. + Input new insurance information for patients at the start of the year. + Ensure meaningful follow-up with patients and complete assignments for 20-25 patients per day. Essential Skills + Pharmacy technician certificate + Pharmacy technician certification + Pharmacy technician license + Prior authorization + Insurance processing + Experience in call centers + Customer service skills + Experience in retail pharmacy Additional Skills & Qualifications + Open to pharmacy tech trainees, certified pharmacy technicians, or pharmacy technicians with expired licenses. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in entering prescription information. Work Environment The work environment includes shifts from 9 AM to 6 PM or 10 AM to 7 PM CST, Monday through Friday, assigned after training. Training lasts for 3 weeks: the first week includes orientation and SOP training, the second week involves hands-on training, the third week includes supervised practice, and the fourth week involves working independently. The team handles a call volume of 300 calls per day across 90 agents. The role requires a compassionate and well-spoken approach to patient interactions.
