The Opportunity

As a key member of the Personalized HealthCare Solutions (PHCS) LifeCycle Team (LCT), the Project Leader will manage high-complexity Companion Diagnostics (CDx) digital pathology projects from inception to launch, ensuring successful collaboration with pharmaceutical partners. This role involves overseeing critical discussions on product quality, functionality, and schedule, while driving continuous improvement in the co-development process. The Project Leader will be the primary point of contact for pharma partnerships, contributing strategic insights on digital pathology and supporting potential partnering opportunities, including preparing recommendations for proposals and negotiating project contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead global, cross-functional CDx digital pathology project teams from start to launch, ensuring alignment with PHCS LCT objectives.

Provide strategic insight into in vitro diagnostics and pharmaceutical markets, including development strategies, regulatory environments, and commercialization.

Develop tailored project strategies for CDx assays and digital pathology, balancing time, cost, risk, and technical/business needs.

Foster early planning, cross-functional involvement, and clear communication for smooth transitions into later development stages.

Motivate, mentor, and manage project teams to drive individual development and team effectiveness.

Promote best practices, lead process improvements, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.

Champion change management, driving innovation and quality improvements within PHCS LCT.

Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts, ensuring project success and effective resource allocation.

Who you are

Required Qualifications & Experience

You hold a Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering or relevant area of study and a minimum of 9 years related work experience. 

You have a minimum of 4 years of related experience in the Medical Diagnostics industry.

You have strong leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams in a global, matrix environment.

You have demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts, adapt to change, and drive results.

You have experience in managing complex projects with ambitious milestones in high-pressure circumstances.

You have familiarity with product changes in a regulated environment and understanding of Diagnostic Design Control processes preferred.

Preferred Experience

You hold an advanced degree in relevant area of study a minimum of 6 years related work experience

You have experience with projects that required activity/milestone achievement to launch the product.

You have experience of challenging senior management in relation to budget/data/resources.

You have experience with external partner management.

You have experience with globally dispersed project teams.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $112,000 - $208,000.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
