Philanthropy Officer – Major Gifts & Capital Campaigns
Location: Hybrid/Remote | Based in Richfield, MN
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000
Fraser is seeking a Philanthropy Officer to play a critical role in securing major and capital gifts in support of our mission and future growth. Reporting to the Director of Development, this individual will help drive major gift fundraising strategies and build strong relationships with high-capacity donors.
You’ll join a collaborative and mission-driven Development & Marketing team of 18, where creativity, dedication, and mutual support are valued. A close-knit group that celebrates individual and team accomplishments while serving as the public face of Fraser in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, including individuals, foundations, and corporations capable of giving $25,000 or more. Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through personalized engagement strategies to secure one-time, multi-year, and capital gifts. Collaborate with the Director of Development, executive leadership, and board members to enhance donor relationships and expand philanthropic support. Support Fraser’s capital initiatives by developing and executing campaign strategies, donor recognition plans, and naming opportunities. Conduct prospect research and partner with the Sr. Prospect Research Manager to qualify new major donor leads. Lead donor visits, site tours, and campaign-related meetings; prepare compelling proposals, impact reports, and stewardship materials. Assist with donor cultivation events and campaign briefings. Stay informed about Fraser’s programs and broader philanthropic trends. Serve as a visible, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic representative of Fraser in the community. Ensure all donor-designated funds are properly recorded and communicated to the CFO.Administrative
Collaborate with the Director of Development and Capital Needs Committee on strategic planning and donor initiatives. Create and manage annual and long-term fundraising plans with clear goals, timelines, and performance metrics. Ensure accurate and compliant tracking, recording, and acknowledgement of gifts in Fraser’s donor database. Regularly report progress, challenges, and outcomes to the Director of Development and CEO. Participate in the Minnesota Planned Giving Association and stay current on best practices and ethical standards in fundraising.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in development, business, communications, marketing, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). CFRE or other fundraising certification preferred. At least 5 years of demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, preferably with experience in capital campaigns or nonprofit development. Proven track record of building and managing a donor portfolio with measurable results. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to confidently engage with high-level donors and stakeholders. Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required.Why Fraser?
