The Advisor I, Collections position interfaces with customers via inbound and/or outbound calls for the purpose of collecting funds in a pre-charge off or past due status. This position performs duties to recover delinquent funds owed to clients and take action to move accounts towards current or balance in full.Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities• Initiate outbound calls to delinquent customers to negotiate payment on accounts due
• Collect payments on pre-charge off or early delinquent accounts to recover funds and contribute to client performance
• Motivate customer to pay outstanding balance in full or determine appropriate payment arrangement, as directed by client
• Ensure service delivered to our customers meets contractual Key Performance Indicator (‘KPIs’)
• Greet customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner using agreed upon procedures
• Listen attentively to customer needs and concerns; demonstrate empathy while maximizing opportunity to build rapport with the customer
• Maintain basic knowledge of client products and/or services
• Prepare complete and accurate work including appropriately notating accounts; maintain required regulatory compliance documents
• Achieve monthly goal / target
• Maintain documentation and accurate records to contribute to regulatory compliance and department efficiency
Candidate Profile• High school diploma with three to six months of relevant experience preferred
• Moderately complex math skills required, including the use of percentages as well as the ability to calculate finance charges
• Basic computer navigation skills and PC Knowledge
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
• Dependable with strong attention to detail
• Skilled in multi-tasking; including the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes quickly
• Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast-paced, high production work environment
• Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
• Demonstrate patience in all customer contact situations; including maintaining a pleasant and professional tone and manner
• Able to rotate shifts, as needed
• Based on location and/or program, additional experience/skills may be required
