CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over eighty physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. We have specialties including Primary Care, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Oncology, and Urology.
Job Summary: Assists technologists in venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients. The work is repetitive in nature and follows standard procedure with little room for deviation. The employee must exercise courtesy and tact in dealing with patients. Work is performed under general supervision following a period of rigid on-the-job training and is checked by observation and quality control procedures.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a phlebotomy course is required. Prior experience is preferred. Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in his/her assigned department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
