Description

- Greet patients warmly and provide clear instructions and directions to enhance their experience.

- Accurately obtain and process patient identification and insurance details to ensure efficient service and timely billing.

- Assess physician orders for specimen types, draw times, and specific handling requirements. Verify orders and organize workflow accordingly.

- Work with physician offices to obtain necessary coding information and resolve any issues promptly.

- Collect high-quality samples following laboratory protocols using various collection devices. Ensure specimens are processed correctly for testing and transport.

- Handle additional specimens such as fluids, urine, and swabs according to quality standards. Maintain specimen integrity through proper storage and processing techniques.

- Keep the work areas clean, organized, and well-stocked to ensure a safe environment.

- Stay informed about collection and ordering requirements for reference and specialty labs. Adhere to laboratory compliance policies and complete mandatory training modules.

- Collect specimens at various healthcare facilities as needed and cover other laboratory sites across the system. Utilize courier services as required, meeting safe driver standards.

- Attend in-services and continuing education seminars to foster personal and professional growth.

- Promote quality patient care and a productive working environment through effective communication and human relations skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- 6 months of related experience including customer service.

- Must have ABG experience

- High School graduate or GED

- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $21.00/hr.
