Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team at a high-volume clinic. This role involves working in an HIV clinic where you will be handling approximately 100 patients on an average day. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in fast-paced environments and have experience handling HIV patients. Responsibilities + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles. + Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. + Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct. + Package specimens for transport. + Store specimen samples at required temperatures and label accurately. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years' experience in phlebotomy. + Recent experience in blood draws and specimen labeling. + Experience in centrifuging specimens and maintaining data records. + Comfortable drawing pediatric patients and those with HIV. + Proficient in using straight and butterfly needles. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong customer service skills. + Ability to handle high patient volumes. + Experience in processing and accessioning samples. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The site closes at 2:30 PM, but you may need to stay longer to complete all draws or assist with wrap-up tasks. The environment is fast-paced, requiring efficiency and attention to detail. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $20.65/hr.
