Job Title: Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist II for positions in both Portland and Hood River. The Portland roles are based in a women's health and reproductive clinic, while the Hood River position is located at the PSC. This role is crucial in providing quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of lab procedures. Responsibilities + Greet patients upon arrival and provide courteous service. + Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately. + Centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and ensure decontamination. + Update patient information and handle insurance billing. + Collect and store specimens following established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Check test requisitions against scripts for accuracy. + Package specimens for transport, ensuring proper temperature and container use. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results. + Prepping the site for specimen collection and processing samples. Essential Skills + Phlebotomy certification + 6+ months of phlebotomy experience + Customer service experience in any setting + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite + Understanding of medical terminology + Ability to take feedback well and a willingness to learn + Patient-first mindset Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED + Experience with data entry + Familiarity with specimen processing and centrifuging + Knowledge of geriatric blood collection + Strong personality fit; positive, hardworking, takes initiative, and collaborates well with others + Proven reliability and positive attendance Work Environment This role is situated within a strong team environment and offers opportunities for growth across various departments. The work takes place in clinics with potential movement between locations, primarily within close proximity. Contracts are initially for 3-6 months with potential extensions based on performance and business needs. Dress code aligns with the professional standards of the healthcare industry. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
