Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. Additionally, you will be responsible for updating patient information and ensuring that specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
+ Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
+ Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.
+ Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
+ Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures in a clear and courteous manner.
+ Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
+ Fully understand and follow physicians' orders.
+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
+ Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
+ Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
+ Package specimens for transport.
+ Store specimen samples according to required temperature and maintain integrity during transport.
+ Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
+ Attend annual department trainings.
+ Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

+ Minimum 6 months work experience performing venipunctures and specimen processing

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years work experience in phlebotomy
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ 0-2 years of experience
Work Environment
This position operates in a clinical environment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no floating required.
