**Overview**
Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
**Responsibilities**
Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on our lab staff to help determine what is happening with our patients. They are a vital key to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Our phlebotomists work with patients to perform blood collection and specimen processing, as well as assisting with clerical duties and maintaining lab collection turnaround time. **Some of what you will do:**
+ Practice positive patient identification and
+ Establish good communication within the hospital
+ Follow appropriate blood collection practices and procedures
+ Perform Blood bank collections, adhering to specimen requirements
+ Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy supplies and environment
+ Creates an atmosphere fostering teamwork and collaboration
**Qualifications**
**What you will need:**
No experience is necessary; you will be trained in appropriate phlebotomy methods
**Education/Licensure** **:**
High School diploma or GED
BLS through American Heart association within 90 days of hire
**Pay Range**
$15.15 - $20.84 /hour
