We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology. This role involves performing venipunctures on adults and pediatrics, micro collections on infants, data entry, specimen processing, and communication with clients to resolve specimen concerns. The candidate must be able to operate a computer input terminal and perform special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks.
Responsibilities
+ Perform venipunctures on adults and pediatrics.
+ Conduct micro collections on infants.
+ Participate in data entry and specimen processing.
+ Communicate with clients to resolve specimen concerns.
+ Perform laboratory assays as needed.
+ Operate computer input terminals.
+ Provide excellent customer service.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks.
+ Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology.
+ Ability to operate computer input terminals.
+ Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
+ Typing and word processing skills.
+ Excellent customer service skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ 1-2 years of experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) in a hospital setting or reference lab.
+ Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
+ Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.
+ Flexibility with schedule.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, and you will work under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, Assistant Director, and/or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. You will be performing venipunctures, micro collections, data entry, and specimen processing in a close-knit work environment. This is a full-time position with two openings, requiring 40+ hours per week. The schedule includes 6 days on, 1 day off, 4 days on, and 2 days off, with shifts subject to change. Available shifts are 3rd shift (9pm-5:30am) and 2nd shift (12:30pm-9:00pm). Initial training is Monday through Friday, and once training is completed, the schedule will be rotated and posted two weeks in advance. Flexibility with the schedule is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00
