Adecco Healthcare and Life Science is hiring a **Phlebotomist** in **Irving, TX.** Please see below and apply with an updated resume for consideration. **Type:** Two month contract **Hours:** Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM **Pay:** $20 - $24 per hour based on experience **Scrubs:** Gray or Black preferred **Primary Responsibilities:** · Performs venipuncture using vacutainer, syringe, and butterfly techniques; capillary punctures using heel and finger stick techniques on patients · Collects, identifies, labels, and processes specimens according to protocol · Instructs patients on urine collection procedures and allocates urine specimens · Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products · Cleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area and ensures preventive maintenance is performed on all equipment and monitors · Maintains knowledge of all routine containers and minimum volumes required for specimen collection, and complies with laboratory ordering and billing compliance · Enters laboratory data accurately into the computer system and responds timely to abnormal and panic values · Distributes laboratory report · Monitors biohazard waste · Adheres to patient confidentiality policy · Adheres to the organization and governmental standards, rules, and regulations · Prioritizes workload to efficiently provide Providers with the information necessary · Performs clerical duties **Required Qualifications:** · High School Diploma or GED · Current National certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist · Computer literacy · Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine blood and urine tests · Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks · This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctors diagnosis of disease **Preferred Qualification** • CLA or ASCP Certified • Basic Life Support (BLS) current • 1+ years of experience • Good communication and customer service skills **Why Work for Adecco?** · Excellent Weekly Pay discussed during screening · 401(k) Plan · Skills Training · Excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
