Phlebotomist

Status: PRN

Shift:  Two Days a week for 2-3hrs per day

Responsibilities:

Calling in orders Assisting in pharmacy orders and retrieving medical records. Speaking with patient families as directed Data entry Contacting facilities and physician offices for patient status, needs and coordination of care Patient Contact; vitals, weight, blood pressure, checking pulse.  Locating patients in advance of physician visit Medical billing; insurance authorizations, communication with entities Conduct blood draws  Complete requisition forms Deliver tests to the lab

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be a licensed Certified Medical Assistant in this state. Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Knowledge of the meaning and usage of common medical abbreviations, symbols and terms relative to the administration of medications. Work positively with staff to coordinate care and physician work flow

 

This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement with the SEIU 503
