Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist with a minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using straight and butterfly needles and possess a strong commitment to patient care. This role requires reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.Decontaminate equipment and update patient information accurately.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously.Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature.Place samples in appropriate collection containers and follow protocols to maintain specimen integrity.Essential Skills
Proficiency in specimen collection, phlebotomy, patient care, and venipuncture.Strong communication skills.Reliability and punctuality.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a fast-paced lab or outpatient setting.Valid driver's license and access to a reliable car.Work Environment
This position requires travel throughout Bronx, MT Vernon, and Yonkers, with tolls and parking costs reimbursed. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 8am-8pm. There is potential for consistent overtime, with every other Saturday requiring work from 9am-2pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, New York.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
