Phlebotomist (Float)

Description

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for drawing patient sample (blood), properly processing the sample and then properly packaging the sample most likely 30-50 times per day

- They will be communicating with the clinic staff daily to organize and schedule the blood draws and also schedule the pick ups/shipping of the samples they draw to the medical testing site in Novi/Farmington.

- Float candidates have to be able to commute throughout the multiple offices to where the help is needed. Mileage will be expensed. They are traveling throughout all of Metro Detroit however will be primarily in Wayne and Oakland county.

- Schedule could change the morning of so they need to have flexibility.

Hours range from 7:30am - 6pm, sometimes slightly earlier and sometimes slightly later just depends on the day and location.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

At least three years of experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant (drawing, processing and packaging samples)

Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification or certificate

200 plus solo draws

Microsoft office proficiency

Need to know order of draw and BD Vacutainer order of draw tube colors for multiple tube collections

Have to be strong with Straight needles, this is the primary needle used

Disqualifier: Not able to describe order of draw or they don't know the tube colors

Education: High School Diploma

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
