Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.Decontaminate equipment and update patient information as needed.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods, such as urine or fecal, when required.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.Fully understand all physician orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Ensure accuracy by checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at required temperatures and place samples in appropriate collection containers.Accurately label specimens and follow specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity for transport.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Essential SkillsValid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required.Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.2-4 years of experience in a relevant field.Additional Skills & QualificationsCandidates with at least 6 months of experience are preferred.Work Environment

The position is based out of Inland Valley Drive, CA, with coverage needed in Hemet, Moreno Valley, Perris, and Menifee. Coverage needs may change daily based on call-outs in the area. The working days are Monday to Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
