Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob Description The main function of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The Phlebotomist II will be responsible for blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles. + Label and process specimens, including centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required. + Record maintenance data and decontaminate work areas. + Update patient information accurately. + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the process of venipuncture, blood drawing, and other specimen collections (e.g., urine, fecal) in a clear and courteous manner. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
