Job Summary

The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection following approved techniques and policies for hospital inpatients and clinic outpatients. The Phlebotomist also organizes specimen collection requests, performs patient clinical laboratory specimen collection procedures, specimen transport, specimen processing, testing dispersal, point-of-care testing procedures, and other pre-analytic functions following established standards and practices.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Certification as a Phlebotomist Technician (PBT) from the ASCP preferred.

Work Schedule

Straight Night Shifts, 6:30pm-7:00am; 80 hours every 2 weeks 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts during this timeframe Every third weekend Every third holiday Occasional on-call time

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 - $23.00 per hour
