Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. The ideal candidate will collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and more. This role involves demonstrating techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles, accurately entering patient information, processing billing information, and preparing specimens for testing and analysis.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.Collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.Process billing information and collect payments when required.Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Maintain patient and specimen information logs.Essential Skills1+ years of experience drawing blood.Phlebotomy experience.Experience with specimen collection and blood drawing.Proficiency in test ordering, paperwork processing, and specimen processing.Experience with butterfly needles.Phlebotomy certification.Customer service skills.Data entry skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPhlebotomy certification for the state preferred.Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.Work Environment

This is a high-volume IOP site with two phlebotomists. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.95 - $18.95
