Position Details Location Hattiesburg 118 College Drive Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39406-0001 United States Division Generic Division Position Type Staff Employment Status Part Time Grant Funded No Pay Grade N04 Posting Close Date until filled Job Summary Perform venipunctures and finger sticks, obtain nasal and nasopharyngeal specimens, process medical laboratory tests and document results for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Follow all CLIA requirements and regulations Primary Duties and Responsibilities + Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations + Obtains patient specimens by venipuncture, finger sticks or nasal/nasopharnyngeal swabs. + Assists the laboratory technician/technologist in processing medical laboratory samples. Assists in documenting results in the electronic medical record. + Assists in cleaning and maintaining the laboratory including equipment. + Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, and computer programs listed below are representative of those which must be utilized to perform the essential functions of this job. Utilizes personal and network computers, photocopy machine, scanner, fax machine and calculator. Is proficient in the following software: Microsoft Word and Electronic Health Record Software (experience with PyraMed electronic health record software preferred). Also uses standard office equipment such as stapler, staple remover, and scissors. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree or higher preferred. Phlebotomy experience and/or certification preferred.
