Photography, Videography & Documentation Consultant-HFH Youth Assembly
Habitat
Background:
Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit working in 1,300 communities across the United States and in 70 countries around the world. Habitat’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. We work toward our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with people and families in need of a decent and affordable home. In Asia and the Pacific, Habitat has supported millions of people to build or improve a place they call home. We are active in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Nepal, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. To learn more, visit www.habitat.org.
Over the past 13 years, we have worked with more than 17 million supporters in Habitat’s largest youth campaign known as Habitat for Humanity’s Young Leaders Build in the Asia-Pacific region. These young people have volunteered, advocated, fundraised, and spoken out to enable almost 37,000 families to build strength and stability through shelter. This movement attests to the youth’s passion and determination to address housing challenges and create exciting, innovative solutions.
With support from Habitat’s Asia-Pacific Development Council, we will transition our youth engagement in this region based on a three-strand initiative. Addressing current housing needs in their own communities, young people will create impactful solutions through these components:Innovating (Habitat Youth Solutions);Convening (Habitat Youth Assembly); andMentoring (Habitat Youth Learns).
Project brief:
In June 2025, we will host the 2025 Habitat Youth Assembly in Cebu, the Philippines. Up to 40 shortlisted young leaders who applied for the Habitat Youth Solutions grant will gather at the three-day event. The youth applicants will get to network with experts in housing, urban development and project management, learn from the 2023 Youth Solutions Micro-grant winners and ideate with peers from across the region. We will also celebrate success when the winners of the 2025 Habitat Youth Solutions grant are announced during the Youth Assembly.

All photos will be accompanied by basic captions based on Habitat’s guidelines and stored in a hard disk and/or shared in an online folder. At the end of each day of the event, curate 20 highlight photos and share with the Habitat team that is onsite. The full set of photos should be handed over to Habitat within a week from the conclusion of the Youth Assembly.Video interviews: conduct up to 15 interviews — ranging from 5 to 10 minutes — with participants and/or resources speakers. All subjects of the video interviews need to provide informed consent. The full set of videos for these interviews should be handed over to Habitat within a week from the conclusion of the Youth Assembly.Video production: Using the footage captured during the first two days of the Youth Assembly and a pre-approved script and with guidance from the Habitat team, deliver a highlights video that will be shown at the close of the Youth Assembly or the awards ceremony on the final day.
