Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Photonics and High-Speed Electrical Layout Engineer to join our dynamic organization. You will collaborate with design and engineering teams to understand project requirements and specifications, and utilize your expertise in photonics and high-speed electrical layout techniques to create accurate and high-performance designs. Your ability to work with cross-functional teams and adhere to industry standards will contribute to the successful fabrication of advanced devices.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to understand project requirements and specifications for the photonics and high-speed electrical layout.
2. Utilize Cadence design tools, such as Cadence Virtuoso, for photonics and high-speed electrical design and layout, ensuring compliance with design rules and guidelines.
3. Optimize high-speed electrical interconnect layouts for signal integrity, power distribution, and manufacturability.
4. Perform layout verification checks, including DRC (Design Rule Check) and LVS (Layout vs. Schematic), to ensure layout accuracy and correctness.
5. Troubleshoot layout-related issues and provide solutions to improve overall design quality and performance.
6. Collaborate with mask design teams to generate mask data for fabrication, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing processes.
7. Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in layout techniques, tools, and industry standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on layout-related considerations, such as routing congestion and signal integrity.
9. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of layout designs and project progress.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including optical engineers, circuit designers, process engineers, and test engineers, to ensure successful tape-out and fabrication of the photonic and electrical ICs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in photonic and high-speed electrical layout design, with a focus on interconnects.
3. Proficiency in using Cadence design tools, specifically Cadence Virtuoso.
4. Strong understanding of layout techniques for photonic and high-speed electrical interconnects, including signal integrity considerations.
5. Familiarity with design rules and guidelines for photonic and high-speed electrical layout and adherence to industry standards.
6. Experience with physical verification techniques, such as DRC and LVS, with Cadence or Siemens Calibre.
7. Scripting skills in Python, SKILL and/or SVRF are a plus.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and resolve layout-related issues.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
10. Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated on new layout techniques and emerging technologies.

**U.S. Salary Range:**
$138,000.00 - $190,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
