**Overview** The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976 we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities. **Responsibilities** **Job Summary:** Responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. **Essential Responsibilities:** + Obtain medical histories when necessary. + Perform physical exams. + Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases. + Order diagnostic tests. + Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment. + Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling. + Assure charts are signed off on timely. + Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality. + Assist doctors with hospital rounds. + Work closely with nurses to assure patient flow is efficient. + Consult with physician regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment. **Qualifications** **License/Certification:** + Physician Assistant license in the state of Tennessee + BLS Certification + ACLS Certification **Experience:** + One year previous experience as Physicians Assistant in an acte care setting. **Pay Range** $48.26 - $57.67/hour plus incentives We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
