PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST
Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2162000 and is part of the 106TH RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces (SF)Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for all base electronic security systems by performing electronic security systems duties and managing all functions necessary to sustain electronic security protection in all areas of the installation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24-months experience, education, or training in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling Installation and law enforcement activities. The incumbent must have experience providing training in areas related to this position and analyzing reports of investigations and maintaining security records. Experience being responsible for all base electronic security systems by performing electronic security systems duties and managing all functions necessary to sustain electronic security protection in all areas of the installation. This includes experience with the Intrusion Detection System (IDS)program, the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) program, Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS, and Security Forces Information Management System (SFMIS). Manages the functional and operational sustainment of all data processing programs such as DBIDS, SFMIS, and other systems installed and/or programmed for the ECP (entry control point). Researching, interpreting, and analyzing guidelines to ensure all work complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Education If using education to qualify a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
