Job Description Summary:
An ASIC Analog Layout Intern in the Physical Silicon Design group contributes to the implementation of analog and mixed-signal circuits for our customers by participating in floorplanning, the creation and refining of layouts, macro and chip assembly, and final physical verification of the macro or ASIC. The Layout Intern is responsible for working with the circuit designer and other layout resources to implement circuits which satisfy all requirements and best practices. The Intern may also incorporate finished digital designs into the analog context. The Layout Intern should understand tradeoffs between different physical implementations, identifying the most optimal balance for the circuit requirements and providing detailed feedback to the designer when necessary.Duties/Responsibilities
• Contribute to the physical implementation of circuits which meet customer requirements.
• Lay out circuits and blocks in a timely and organized manner.
• Basic understanding of silicon processes to balance design needs against what is possible in layout.
• Some experience with full custom layout tools (Virtuoso, Custom Compiler, etc).
• Comprehension of design rule checks (DRC) and layout vs schematic (LVS) verification.
• Familiarity with general circuit topologies and common design structures.
• Ability to provide specific feedback to the circuit designer about issues during layout implementation.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.
Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
