This position is located at the Material Lab in Maplewood and has the potential to work a hybrid schedule, must be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week, but could increase to 5 days a week as needed. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
**As the Physical Testing Engineer you will provide technical leadership and direction for materials testing and precast/prestressed concrete plant inspection for the Department.** **In addition, the position directs the activity of the Precast Testing Unit of the Office of Materials & Road Research.**
**Minimum Qualifications**
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.
**AND**
Three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent that demonstrates:
+ Experience in materials testing engineering.
+ Experience with Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) design and fabrication requirements.
+ Experience with Precast Inspection and Construction.
+ Knowledge of AASHTOWare Materials Testing Software.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with AASHTO Resource Accreditation program
+ Knowledge of American Pipe Association (ACPA)
+ Knowledge of Precast Concrete Association (NPCA)
+ Knowledge of Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI)
