Job Summary: The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible for the organization and implementation of medically prescribed Physical Therapy treatment programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. He/she also helps the patient reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers.
Minimum Requirements: BS, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Licensed by the State of North Carolina. Minimum six months experience in Physical Therapy or clinical internship in Physical Therapy. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age, specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's departmental policies and procedures.
