Job Details:

Purpose

The Physical Therapist will support a comprehensive outpatient physical therapy program within the Musculoskeletal Institute at the Dell Medical School. This position will provide evidence-based clinical care and rehabilitation program development and implementation as part of an interdisciplinary team who collectively strives to deliver exemplary, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities                                                                                        

Support and integrate with the Musculoskeletal Institute to ensure shared knowledge and a multidisciplinary approach is applied to patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints.

Develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, alleviate pain, and prevent further debilitation in patients. Through initial evaluation of both operative and non-operative patients, determine which patients can improve with home therapy programs versus those that will require traditional office monitored physical therapy programs.

Teach home therapy programs to patients in the office and maintain communication with patients as they perform their programs. Critical evaluation of patient progress will be required to ensure that patients are appropriately progressing with the treatment plan and interventions are made when patients are not.

Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation in accordance with Texas Physical Therapy Practice Act. Participate in continuing clinical education to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date and relevant.

Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited School of Physical Therapy with three (3) or more years of experience as an outpatient physical therapist treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Hold a Physical Therapy license in the state of Texas and be in good standing. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-provider practice environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in physical therapy with one (1) or more years of experience as an outpatient physical therapist treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Working knowledge of and/or experience with Value-Based Healthcare Delivery models. Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Salary Range

$80,000+ depending on qualifications
