The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a part time Physical Therapist Educator Assistant to work in Coral Gables, FL. The Physical Therapist Educator Assistant (H) assists with student instruction in practical and laboratory activities associated with classes in the didactic portion of the DPT curriculum. This employee works one-to-one with students during scheduled class periods and assists the course master with hands-on activities and practical examinations, grading, and scoring structured class activities.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Works one-on-one and in small groups with graduate DPT students during scheduled structured laboratory experiences.
Works with core faculty in the DPT curriculum to implement scheduled laboratory activities.
Attends lectures associated with structured activities to prepare for them.
Gives oral and/or written feedback to students about their performance.
Provides guest lectures in areas of expertise as needed.
Performs other duties as directed by supervising faculty and/or DPT program director.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Doctoral degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Current Florida Licensed Physical Therapist
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Education and/or Experience
• The individual must be a graduate from a physical therapy program approved by the APTA and must hold a FL PT license, or be eligible for licensure in FL.
• The individual must have knowledge of and maintain standards of professional and ethical practice according to APTA guidelines.
• The individual must have expertise in the area of emphasis of the course for which he/she is providing supplemental instruction.
• The individual must have good written and verbal communication skills.
